I just want to help you finish your outline and start writing.
Plot Compass is a free story outline creator designed to help you finish outlines and start writing your story quickly.
It's there whenever you need it, but it's designed to be used as little as possible.
I think outlining is a helpful step zero, but step one is actually writing your story. Every minute you spend outlining is a minute you aren't spending writing the story that matters to you.
I don't want to steal your attention or time. I just want to help.
The philosophy
Speed over bloat
Pick a structure, answer the prompts, and export.
No nickel-and-diming
The core tool is free. No subscriptions, no attention-grabbing tricks. If I introduce paywalls, it will be for things like image hosting, where not paywalling the feature will wind up costing me too much money.
Private and secure
I'm doing my best to make sure your ideas are secure, while still allowing for things like cloud sync and cross-device access. Encryption is an easy toggle that makes it so nobody can access your ideas except for you.
Why is it free?
I'm a writer, not a dev. I built this for me first, but figured other folks might get some use out of it as well.
I believe creators deserve nice things that don't try to devour their wallets. If you want to support the project or join the community, there's an optional Patreon — but the tool will never be held hostage.
I just want to help you get in, map your story, and get out.
